Property Inspections for insurance claims

Property inspections for insurance reasons are similar to real estate property inspections in some ways, and different in some others. A goal of both inspections is to verify the overall value of your property. Insurance inspections do this to make sure your current coverage covers entirely rebuilding the property if a claim requires it. Where the inspections differ is that an insurance related inspection will specifically seek to identify potential costly hazards that you can address before you ever have to make a claim, saving everyone involved grief, time, and money.

What do they do?

Our property inspections cover the exterior and (if one exists) the interior of your property. Our inspector will first go around the outside of the property taking notes and identifying any potential hazards or points of failure. They will then proceed through the interior room by room doing the same. At the end of the inspection, they will sit down with you to discuss your risks, what you can do to minimize them, what your current insurance covers, and what you may not be currently covered for.

We do not sell insurance, so we won’t be pushing any coverage on you, but will have a frank discussion with you about what you should and shouldn’t be worried about.

The good news is that many insurance policies cover a lot more than most property owners may realize:

  • Fire & Lightning
  • Roof Leaks
  • Melted Siding
  • Toilet Overflows
  • Artillery Spores
  • Explosion
  • Vehicles
  • Vandalism

  • Falling Object
  • Riot & Civil Commotions
  • Collapse
  • Accidental Damages to carpets, kitchen cabinets, wallpaper, siding and many others
  • Accidental overflow of water or steam

  • Windstorm & Hail
  • Water Stains
  • Cracked Tiles
  • Sewer Back-ups
  • Breakage of Glass
  • Air Craft
  • Smoke
  • Theft
  • Frozen pipes, HVAC
  • Weight of Ice, Snow & Sleet
  • Sudden or Accidental Damage from artificially generated electrical current And much, much more
